THE GRANNY SQUARE AND BEYOND – AN INTRODUCTION TO CROCHET

The craft of hand crochet has come a long way from the humble granny square and there is now a huge selection of fabulous patterns available on the internet and in books. This workshop will give you the skills to start creating your own decorative and wearable items.

We’ll start by making a selection of granny squares to give you confidence in the basic stitches such as chains, double and treble crochet. We’ll then branch out by using these stitches for small items such as flowers and progress into showing how these stitches can also be used to make larger items such as afghan blankets, hats, accessories and sweaters.

Full day workshop, a vegetarian lunch will be provided.
